The show must go on
In particular Shirley Caesar's vocals were buried in the mix in the first half of the show. The venue has had sound problems for me historically. I know he was fighting a cold, but was disappointed with the over all sound. This was my 7th time to see Shirley Caesar and the second time in this building. I did miss him mixing in some acoustic numbers and blues in favor of his more recent album tracks. Don't get me wrong, I love Shirley Caesar's music but it's his love of British and American blues that attracted me in the beginning. I got my wish to see him with horns and back up singers instead of his usual 4 piece set up. In the 70's the Doobie Brothers and Grand Funk Railroad and in the 90's the Black Crows. Shirley Caesar's a trooper and he will come around again and because I've seen him put on some incredible shows I'll be there to see him. The show must go on. This one was just a little disappointing for me.
